April 30, 2025
April felt like a month with two very different stories happening at the same time.
On one hand, we had birthdays, sunshine, Easter, and everyday moments with the kids that filled my heart. On the other, we navigated an unexpected family emergency that shifted our plans overnight and took us across the country.
Celebrating Asher
My baby boy turned another year older this month, and I still can’t believe how fast time is moving. His birthday felt simple, sweet, and filled with everything he loves—play, snacks, laughter, and the full attention of his little world.
Every year he grows, I see more of his personality, his tenderness, and his joyful spirit. Celebrating him is one of my favorite parts of April.
Spring Activities and Resetting Our Rhythm
With the weather warming up, we spent more time outside, more time exploring, and more time resetting our daily rhythm. Chalk-covered driveways, bikes, skateboards, playground runs, sunshine, and simple joys.
Nothing fancy — just the kind of childhood moments that make a season feel full.
California Trip
Our California Trip has just begun, and all the steps keep falling into place. The situation was brought to our attention, and within hours we were packing bags, making arrangements, and flying out the next day. We tapped into our strengths, worked as a team, and we made it happen.
It wasn’t a trip we planned — but it was a trip we needed to take.
Looking ahead
April stretched me in ways I wasn’t expecting, but it also grounded me in gratitude.I’m stepping into May with a softened heart, deeper faith, and a renewed appreciation for the small moments — because they’re never small to our kids.
Here’s to whatever next month brings. And here’s to trusting God with every bit of it.
