Creating “Let’s Get Curious” has been one of the most joyful, chaotic, fulfilling creative processes I’ve ever walked through. I wanted to bring you behind the scenes because so much heart went into this book—not just mine, but my kids’, too.
Where the Idea Came From
As a mom of littles, I spend a huge part of my day answering questions:
“Why?” “How?” “What’s that?”
Kids are naturally curious, and instead of trying to rush through the questions, I wanted to embrace them. Curiosity is how children learn, bond, and understand the world God created.
So I thought, What if I made a book that encouraged curiosity instead of shutting it down? A book that made kids excited to explore while reminding parents that their child’s questions are invitations—not interruptions.
The Creative Process
Creating this book looked like:
Storyboarding during nap times
Planning the structure while cooking dinner
Involving my kids as we did the photoshoots
Recording little notes on my phone at random times of the day
Researching early childhood learning patterns
Making sure the steps were applicable at every age and stage
I wanted to include the little things, in an way that every parent could use.
What This Book Means to Me
It’s more than a children’s book. It’s a tool for connection. A conversation starter. A way to create moments with your child that strengthen the bond between parent and little one.
My prayer is that “Let’s Get Curious” inspires families to lean into the magic of questions and the beauty of exploring the world together.
This is only the beginning of many more children’s books to come.
