My baby boy is officially 2. It feels unreal typing that.
Two years ago, God blessed us with this bold, joyful, curious little boy who has changed the rhythm of our home in the best way. Eden turning 2 made me pause and reflect on everything I’ve learned from him so far.
He’s Fierce and Gentle at the Same Time
One moment he’s bossing around his big brothers and the next he’s cuddled up on my chest rubbing my arm. He loves hard, and he stands his ground—two qualities I pray he carries into adulthood.
He Reminds Me to Slow Down
Toddlers move fast, but they notice everything. Eden is the first to point out a flower, a bug, a shadow, or a toy I didn’t even know was out. He makes me see the world through fresh eyes.
He’s Teaching Me Patience All Over Again
Whew. Two comes with:
emotions
independence
curiosity
trying to do everything “myself!”
And that’s okay. He’s growing. He’s learning. And I’m learning right alongside him.
What I Hope He Always Knows
As I watch him grow, I pray he knows:
he is seen
he is celebrated
he is loved beyond measure
he is strong
he was created with purpose
Raising him is a gift, and even on the hard days, I wouldn’t trade it.
Happy 2nd birthday, my sweet Eden.
