Gratitude for Littles Series: Cultivating Thankfulness in Young Children

We're phasing into gratitude on @_caballerocollaborations

Gratitude is a foundational habit we can nurture early in life. In the Gratitude for Littles Series, I explored ways to help children notice blessings, express thanks, and develop hearts of gratitude.

Simple Practices for Daily Gratitude

  1. Gratitude Jar: Each day, write or draw something your child is thankful for.

  2. Thankful Conversations: At mealtimes, ask littles what made them happy today.

  3. Prayer Practice: Include thankfulness in bedtime prayers.

  4. Acts of Kindness: Helping others reinforces gratitude in action.

  5. Reflect on Nature: Notice God’s creation and discuss its beauty and purpose.

Teaching gratitude isn’t about perfection—it’s about cultivating a mindset of thankfulness and joy, even in small moments.
